Futurama 1

In this series of posts on Futurama and Rick and Morty, I establish a genre standard for animated sci fi series so that anolamies are easier to interpret.

It is difficult to match up the episodes as they are labled on Disney+ with how they are organized in the Wikipedia or DVDs. In the Wikipedia, the publishing dates don’t match up with the episode numbers, but in Disney +, the publishing dates are more chronological. I’m not sure which convention to use, so I’ll take Disney’s. This makes the straight to DVD Futurama movies from 2008 into season 6 according to Disney’s convention.

There are reasons to suspect that the season 6 straight to DVD Futurama movies may have been artificially inserted into the past pubishing record. It seems silly, but as we enter an age of AI in which copyright territory might be claimed by changing the publishing record, our systems need to develop defenses against this tactic and responses to early attacks with this strategy can make the system more robust long-term.

The themes of these two episodes have come up spontaneously in wierd stories I’ve written in past months and I suspect that the events of a terrible year will be presented out of order in this season and the next. I didn’t have this sort of reaction to the previous season. In re-tellings of awful stories, people often modify them to show how the people should have reacted instead of how they actually reacted. In reality, the crew did nothing to stop the execution of an innocent person. What is more likely: that a young woman suddenly turns into a murderer when surrounded by murderers or that the murderers killed someone and blamed it on her? What is more likely: that a young woman suddenly turns into a habitual liar when surrounded by professional liars or that the professional liars lied? This isn’t rocket science, people.)

The copyright listed in the credits is from 2001 when the air date was 2002 and it matches up with events from 2002. “Any similarity to actual person’s or events is unintentional” Unintentional my ass. I cannot understand why the air dates are all out of order in both the Disney sequence and the Wikepedia sequence. My guess is that the production code was assigned first and the air dates were assigned much later as a sort of decryption key. The DVDs didn’t get released until early 2004.)

Futurama S4E4 (2002-2003) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 40

  3. Amy collects care bears that are born and executed in the romantic city. The professor zaps Leela with a cattle prod when she acts cynical.
  4. A woman falls in love with an AI. Fry uses conversation hearts to express his feelings for Leela.
  5. The robot falls in love with the ship’s AI voice. He tickles her and she almost crashes the ship. Leela reminds him that it is illegal for him to get romantically involved with a ship-bound coworker. (This same storyline came up in an episode of Groening’s Disenchantment in which Elfo had a romantic relationship with his ship while pretending that the woman he was actually involved with was a lesbian.)
  6. The robot sings love songs, dances, and picnics with the ship. Then he suddenly loses interest and decides to return to cheap floozies who he lies to about who he is. The ship sees what he is doing.
  7. The ship contacts Fry who lies to the ship about what the robot is doing on the side. The next day, she visit the zoo with the robot, but he’s bored. He lies to her about what she saw when he was out with hookers. He also never told her about Lucy Liu.

  9. The emperor and his wife watch tv and receive a delivery of love notes from Leela and the robot. They don’t like the delivery because they don’t believe in love. They attack the ship while it tries to escape. While the ship flees, the robot tells her he doesn’t really like her that much. The missiles from the emperor and empress hit the ship and send her spinning.
  10. The robot likes breakups to be as sudden and brutal as possible, but he doesn’t know that the ship is pregnant and has decided to fly into a quasar to forget him forever (this means quitting/dying and this would negatively financially impact them because she is their cash cow). This scares the robot into telling her he loves her, but she doesn’t believe him.
  11. The ship proposes marriage to the robot and he refuses. (In Disenchantment it was the reverse. he propesed, but only to get her to finish the jobs he had lined up) I don’t think either of these scenarios had any connection to the truth. Would you want to marry a guy who used whores?)
  12. Leela tries to stop the ship from quitting by shutting off her brain (sedating her), but the ship fights back. They are living off of money/oxygen that is only there because of the ship.
  13. The crew talks in a place where the ship can’t hear them. To preserve their money supply, Leela plans to shut down the ship’s brain while having the robot serve as a storage device for the ship’s identity and personality so that they can re-boot her with her identity intact while she forgets about the illegal relationship she had with the robot. (They really re-wrote this part of the story to make the young woman (ship) look like a love sick fool when really she’d been broken up with via anal rape and getting pimped out to people who did serious damage to her for the purposes of torture porn. That’s a very effective way to make a woman dislike you. I bet the love letters were forgeries — even if she forgot about what he had done to her. She tolerated too much from this guy, but she was not someone who falls for people quickly.)
  14. The robot is afraid to lose himself by absorbing the ship’s programming. He doesn’t want to change into being someone new and he felt like she was changing him. Leela is willing to take that risk. (The real risk was that the young woman (ship) would come back from Leela’s mind wipe as a completely different person. Leela was practicing extremely invasive medicine without a licence in order to preserve their funding and hide their malpractice with temp workers or trainees.)
  15. The robot melds his mind with that of the ship and this is expressed as electrocution. This form of brainwashing would allow the robot to tell the ship what to do like an automaton so that they could complete their contract/mission. (No one would willingly consent to giving control of their mind to a bad man like that.)
  16. Once inside her mind, the robot realizes that the ship is older than she said she was (23 instead of 18 — he was 57 and cliaiming to be 37). Meanwhile, Fry, the robot’s alter ego, is still hoping to impress Leela (40) but failing while Leela is attempting to disable the ship’s logic circuits so that she can be controlled like an automaton for the duration of their mission. (I really hope someone put Leela and Fry in jail.)
  17. The process is making the robot paranoid that the ship is going to consume him. Fry and Leela are almost out of money/oxygen, so Fry gives Leela his oxygen supply.
  18. By making the young woman (ship) unconscious, Fry and Leela got their oxygen/money supply back and prevented the ship from quitting the training program (entering the supernova). Fry is unconscious from too little oxygen and he was choking on a love letter. He gets resuscitated The robot emerges from his connection to the ship as a changed man. He remembers her voice and image of him. (Because they invert situations, one should imagine that the person who almost choked to death was the trainee and Fry was at fault.)
  19. Leela empties all of the love letters into space, turning them into a vapor that destroyed many planets by inspiring silly, romantic notions and new attachments. All over the Earth, couples stood together to bask in the glow of the love letters.. even Fry and Leela. (It is really sad, a young woman’s last love song was destroyed along with her brain and her body so that old man Fry and old lady Leela got some money to continue recreating the tragedy with other young women. They are so disgusting.)

This episode is dated February 2002 and my time couldn’t have started until after July 2002, so this might have been the woman who came before me in their pipeline of destruction in which young women were lied to and mistreated, zapped out by his female partner, told she was getting married, and then handed off to her new owners in a childlike state with no memory of the relationship so that she could work with her abuser again without any romantic notions. Her memories of their time together would be attributed to her imagination and remind her of why she doesn’t want him as a romantic partner. If L is Leela, Layla, Laila, she worked with Fry for three years before M and N followed similar trajectories, except M had babies she was forced to abandon when she returned to her real life, N later became suicidal after her original romantic prospects and capabilities were systematically destroyed and she was abandoned in low wage, low-status work after she recorded a demo of original songs that she forgot she wrote when her mind was erased. O got to peform N’s songs and become mildly famous, but she got really bad dementia and abandoned her son to be raised by a pair of lesbians. She was married to a man who leached off of her and cheated on her. P is M’s daughter who was sexually abused as a child.

  7. The robot demands a paternity test conducted by the professor with a centrifuge. Fry, the doctor, the general, and Amy are ruled out as fathers. Leela is determined to be the genetic parent, but the boyfriend considers Amy to be the true parent. (Is Leela really so evil she would use an unwilling surrogate to get a baby? OR, did the professor trick her into thinking the baby was hers so that he could get her to settle down and give up mercenary work. I think the latter is more likely.)

Amy arrives at the last minute to help him.
  11. He gives birth to a host of tadpoles (premature infants) that Amy must protect while they make their way into a swamp puddle for final gestation. Amy and her boyfriend plan to collect the children once they climb onto land.

In this season, there are two episodes dedicated to pregnancies of male characters: Bender and Kif. None of the other seasons have this feature. Leela is given responsibility for creating the pregnancy in both cases while Amy is asked to take responsibility for it when Kif was the source of sperm that got the intern pregnant. The robot distributes the babies to injured soldiers in one episode and in another episode, he is cruel to the mother. Kif asks to marry her while the robot steps aside, even though he was involved with her in other episodes. He isn’t allowed to get married. It isn’t clear whose genetic material is in the babies. Either way, the surrogate was not consenting. This is why combining unethical brainwashing scientists with assassins on a team that does odd jobs for presidents is not a good idea.

  9. The detonation transports the brain to a place where it will be trapped for an eternity. 1. A person proves their identity by telling a secret.

  2. Leela makes everyone go when they don’t want to. The last crew to attempt it died. They dress like bees. The robot does a dance to communicate with them. They encounter the last crew’s ship and listen to their final death cries in a recording, yet they continue on because of Leela.
  3. Fry falls in royal jelly and Leela wants to steal a baby queen to found their own hive. The robot insults the hive’s old queen and they are attacked. They fly back to their space ship with the baby queen while leaving the robot behind. The robot makes it back and they escape.
  4. Fry disapproves of how reckless Leela is and she tells him he is dumb. The baby queen she stole grew a stinger and stabbed Fry through the heart, so the robot ejected it into space where it was hit by a car and forgot all about them. The bee was ejected to the tune of Walkin on Sunshine. (Something similar happened in the episode in which the AI in the ship fell in love with the robot. These stories are two sides of one coin and in both stories, Leela is the villain who erases minds or gets kidnapped queen bees hit by cars.)
  5. Fry is dead and the robot cries. They hold a funeral for Fry and Leela cries. The clergyman tells everyone that Fry died within 15 seconds but the pain was so intense it felt like 15 years and caused him to poop in his pants. His body was ejected into space. (I think this represents what it feels like to be electrocuted to death. The victim poops from pain.)
  6. The robot cries that Fry was the only person he cared about in the whole world. (It was the robot’s nice guy, young man identity.)
  7. Leela sits with her pet and eats space honey to feel better. It makes her feel high. Then she passses out. She dreams that Fry is still alive. He tells her there is a surprise for her in her locker. She checks her locker and finds nothing.
  8. The robot had already gotten the present Fry had left for her. She thinks this proves Fry is alive somewhere. (I think it proves that the robot and the pet are Fry’s alter egos and that these people are really lame about creating drama where none exists.. unless the pet is not Fry. Then there is some drama. I think this story just represents an old dude’s realization that he couldn’t pretend to be thirty years old anymore and that seducing, kidnapping, and electrocuting baby queen bees to death was wrong.)
  9. The professor attempts to chop off Leela’s head in a guillotine to study it. He insists Fry is dead and nothing will bring him back. Leela won’t believe it since Fry talked to her in her dreams again. She woke up with his jacket and then it disapppeared. Recall that Leela is mourning a man who pretended to be a good guy while he lured young women to their doom. He was duplicitous and evil.

  11. She dreams about bees stinging her friends and making them explode. She dreams that she goes out to exhume Fry’s coffin because she feels responsible for his death. She almost takes the third spoonful of death honey and Fry tells her not to stay in a coma forever.
  12. She wakes up in a hospital with Fry alive. She was in a coma for two weeks from the bee sting and Fry talked to her nonstop.
  13. This episode is dated from 1 June, 2003 the similar episode is from February 10, but it focused on how Leela increasingly disabled the brain of a female slave on their ship during a mission while a guy professed his love for her so that she didn’t die or refuse to complete the jobs they had lined up for her. In this later episode, the bee hive sounds a lot like the lab where I worked and where I was a baby queen (SLAC). There was also a ‘son’ who died that year because they blamed him for something that his ‘father’ did. His ‘mother’ mourned him and he might have been handed over to an insane asylum and electrocuted to death, or it was just an old man killing of f his young man identity. That was how they did things with prisoners they borrowed to staff their crews. I really don’t know what happened, but I remember crying and believing I was going to be executed. I remember crying like a baby and having the electrodes placed on my head while under a death sentence. I remember that distinctly. In an encryption scheme where the victim is invisible and represented by those who hurt the victim, this show implies that Leela is responsible for putting the intern in a two week coma after Fry stung her (ass rape probably). Leela would also be responsible for getting the intern executed in a painful way, making the intern believe she was responsible for a man’s death when he wasn’t really dead, and for trying to give the intern’s brain to a scientist who wanted to do research with it. I think this is why I hate Leela. I picture her as a nasty, tall fake readhead or blonde who became a bodybuilder. She was practically a man and had fake boobs. The ‘president’ woman on the battlestar galactica was different but also bad. Leela was her boss and did prisoner delivery and some missions.)

  5. Amy’s boyfriend bought her a watch and they avoid crashing their glider, but the watch falls into the mouth of a whale. He cries.
  6. The ancient professor uses his temporary, stem cell youth to date a skanky punk rock teen. (I think the men are all alter egos of one guy, illustrating how he spent the money he embezzled from selling young women as slaves and stealing their pensions.)

  5. The crew visits a market of body parts. They visit a sex shop to find the black market porn nose. They can’t find it, but they get a video of the man who purchased the porn nose. It was the married emperor. His wife wasn’t impressed with his sexual performance and used the nose to get off.
  6. The crew visits the emperor and ask to have the nose returned. Fry gets his nose back and a spot on the right cheek of his face is marked with a burn from a laser.
  7. The emperor is surprised to find out that the nose is not the primary sex organ and wants to cut off Fry’s penis as a sex aid. Fry offers his nose instead.

I think this means that the female intrn only narrowly avoided being turned into a man in order to satisfy the boss’s wierd fetish about turning her into a twink.

  1. The setting is the 3004 Olympic Games and the robot is being rewarded for what he did in 2002-2003.
  2. Many of the countries in the Olympics are tiny, island nations no one has heard of. Hermes wants to compete in the limbo, but he is fat. He is mocked by a slim man from Barbados. He loses because his supersuit malfunctions.
  3. The robot wants to compete but is only strong enough to compete with the women. He is so ashamed of his low performance in feats of strength he wishes everyone else were dead. He settles for being celebrated as a super, strong woman instead. He asks the professor for a sex change operation and Fry watches the brutal operation with curiosity. He’s warned it could be irreversible.
  4. The robot enjoys being on a stage with medals while the women on the crew are angry that the robot’s floozy grandstanding is making women look like jerks.
  5. The robot asks to be changed back into a man after he goes on a talk show where he objectifies his boobs and butt. The crowd likes it. He then falls for a famous movie star.
  6. For once the robot wants to eat dinner with a celebrity who isn’t bound and gagged. He dresses like a tramp for his date. Fry is worried that the robot will get raped on the date (or get a potato up the tailpipe). The professor says the robot is becoming a slave to his emotions like all women.
  7. The robot pigs out on the date and the movie star is impressed by how well the robot understands the male mind. The robot hangs out on the movie star’s yacht and goes dancing with him. The movie star showers the robot with gifts and proposes marriage. The robot accepts because he wants to be a gold digger, divorce him, and turn back into a man.
  8. They go on a hot air balloon ride. She doesn’t believe the actor loves her but he claims he would give up show business to be with her — when he’d once told her he would never quit showbusiness. She hugs him, but is afraid she can’t go through with the marriage because she doesn’t want to hurt him when he’d been so nice to her (the robot).
  9. The profesor tells the crying, guilt stricken robot that he’s been in character too long and is forgetting who he really is. Leela offers to help him get out of the situation because she is certain that the actor can tolerate soap opera pain.
  10. The robot has a big wedding and reads corny vows. On the altar, the robot then pretends to be sick with a fatal, tropical disease. Then Fry feigns an assassination attempt. The robot professes his love and then fakes his death.
  11. The famous actor creates a movie based on the experience.
  12. The professor operates on the robot to change him back to his male identity. He now wants to go find some floozies. He still cries when he sees the actor’s movie about their doomed marriage.

This matches up with the story in Echo Wife in which a man’s brain zapping ex-wife helps his pregnant bride fake her death and escape while leaving behind her baby. But in all of my stories, she didn’t intend to fake her death and either the woman or the couple faked her suicide because she had rejected marriage proposals and been abused by them in illegal, off the books ways for their personal profit — and they needed to make sure she didn’t tell anyone or remember it. Meanwhile, they held her passport and sanity hostage. The point is that they lied in their documentation and claimed to be faking her death for her benefit when they had sold her pregnant body to organ traffickers who then gave her to a military contractor that wanted to send her into a war zone as a pregnant cover bride. When she ran away, she was made to look like a drug addict and put in ‘rehab’ — a bad place. I don’t doubt that a man would feel a bit broken up and guilty over tricking a woman with a marriage proposal so that she could be more easily led to her demise, but this was standard operating procedure. She got multiple marriage proposals in this context from different guys.

Futurama S5E14 (2002-2003) vs. not in My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 540

  1. Fry goes to a robot convention and has to pay an entrance fee because he has a soul. A scientist advertises his killbots that look scary but hate violence. The professor and scientist hit one another.
  2. The robot corp CEO introduces her new, floating robot. It is green (doesn’t pollute or consume), while the older models run on alcohol and emit toxic gas. The new robot does jobs diligently, while the old model steals money and doesn’t do jobs.
  3. The crew gets a new robot that keeps things tidy. The old robot installs a satellite dish. The new robot helps and saves the old robot’s life. The old robot feels like obsolete garbage. The crew treats the new robot as a mindless tool while the old robot is afraid of the new robot.
  4. The professor insists on an upgrade of the old robot, so he goes to the robot factory where he watches other robots get their brains electrocuted and reprogarammed to not fear the new robot models that are there to replace them. Before the old robot’s reprogramming is complete, he jumps out of a window to escape. He is too afraid of the brain damage to stay with the crew and will only be accepted by them if he gets it, so he gets on a boat and leaves.
  5. In a short story, I wrote, a woman jumped out of a window after a man had blinded her, proposed marriage, and taken her to a foriegn island where he was unfaithful to her and speaking a language she didn’t know. She didn’t like being blind and trapped. She broke her arm and got new eyes. This is what happens when a crew sends an obsolete robot out for reprogramming and gets a replacement. Isn’t it funny how they downplay the robot’s lack of autonomy and their heartlessness?
  6. After a storm, he washes up on an island and makes a HELP sign. He digs up yams and is upset that there is no electricity for his blender. He dreams of beer.
  7. He meets a community of obsolete robots who had been dumped on the island. They live a low tech life. They are sad that they lack memories of their past lives. The robot is upset that there is no entertainment. They watch a snail crawl for hours. The robot has a sound system, but the other robots prefer the ocean sounds, so he throws it away.
  8. He finds a washing machine and throws it away. he hates himself for being a robot because he hates all technology. He downgrades himself into a wooden form and plans to invade the technological world using a submarine they built.
  9. They run arround the city vandalizing stores and labs. He even steals the orphans’ electricity. The others want to return to their island, but the robot wants to attack his old workplace. He takes out their power.
  10. Without power, the professor thinks he is blind. The robot announces that he is there to free them from their technological lives. His new crew is told to fire at the new robot, but instead, they destroy the ship. he has to rescue his old crew, but his downgrades make him unable to help them. He’s attacked by termites and is set on fire. The new robot saves everyone and fixes the ship.
  11. The old robot lies in a pile of ashes and claims to now like the new robot. He goes to the factory to get a new body and postive attitude. He remembers betraying his crew but all is forgiven because of the upgrade. He’s told that the betrayal never happened. He worries his whole history and worldview is artificially programmed.
  12. He walks out into a trashy city street and imagines that it is a beautiful fantasy land.

This story reads as artificial because it demonizes a victim and created a narrative of vengeance when demoralization is the more likely reaction to rejection. Assholes pre-emptively strike and then they expect vengeance. These people were assholes.

Futurama S5E15 (2002-2003) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 20

  1. X gets set on fire while kids watch.
  2. X becomes a media sensation and people immitate X. There are protests against X’s message.

Futurama S5E15 (2002-2003) vs. not in My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 410

  1. The crew watches a robot soap opera in which the son can’t remember his father, the father is surprised that his wife is cheating on him and isn’t Egyptian, and the mother almost kills the son because she has amnesia. Everyone on the show has amnesia.
  2. The kids watch the show and want to have amnesia and big birthday parties with lots of drugs too. The professor’s son/clone is sad that he doesn’t have a birthday. They throw him a birthday party, but no one comes.
  3. The soap opera father is almost told a secret by his son when the son glitches and can’t speak. The show needs a replacement robot child and the crew’s robot wants to audition. Fry warns him that he has too much competition for the job. He uses fake advetising to disparage the others and get the job.
  4. The robot is a bad actor so they put him into a coma for the job. He refuses to stay in a coma for the scene and gets up to dance and party. (I’m sure comas are totally safe to use for actors. This story also looks like an elaborate lie. I wrote a story in which a young woman was put into a coma and everyone was told she was brain dead so that she could be sent to an organ donor hospital in south america where she woke up after an injection of speed and had to drive an injured man to the coast to escape.)
  5. The actor in the scene with the robot refuses to shoot it again, even though the dancing ruined it. The robot is also accused of (filmed?) stealing stuff from the actor’s dressing room for no reason at all. The actor demands that the robot is fired.
  6. The network executive shows up to plan the fall schedule. The robot’s performance was popular with audiences and they want more of it, so he won’t be fired. He’s asked to act like a bad-boy character who commits petty crimes constantly. (This surely won’t be used in a later trial to create a fraudulent character profile of the robot. I think this is what happens when an agency selectively hires people with criminal temperments. They cover their asses by framing innocents.)
  7. Kids think the robot’s bad behavior is cool. They start to smoke but it makes them puke. He sets himself on fire and audiences protest his influence on kids. The kids decide to rob the robot to immitate his bad behavior. The kids disguise themselves as the robot to commit robberies.
  8. Now the kids are rich and popular. Everyone comes to their party. The professor doesn’t understand how they made this happen. The octopus wants to party with the kids and sees nothing wrong with that.
  9. When the robot notices that the kids stole his stuff, he protests his own television show and wants it to be taken off the air. The network wants more nasty material out of the robot and holds him at gunpoint with a camera in his face.
  10. The professor points a gun at the robot to insist that he stop getting filmed smoking and drinking. The robot steals their guns and rants about how he doesn’t want filthy tv being shown to children. He asks parents to turn off their tvs for the kids’ sake.

The story where the child throws a birthday party and no one comes also happened in Arrested Development. Maebe was blamed. If the intern was a victim of this, then they blamed another intern who had agreed to be mean for no reason. I guess they were testing people’s willingness to cooperate with sadists in order to be accepted by them.

  1. There is a story within a story.
  2. Two men fight over a woman.

  1. Fry and the robot live in crappy city barracks. Fry is taking lessons in a futuristic artform and misses how Leela liked him when he was smarter. He has a preformace and is the oldest performance.
  2. The robot calls his occupation: love machine. Fry scares the audience with stories about disgusting things happeneing that they don’t want to know about. His teacher rejects him.
  3. Fry likes the artform because he has lots of great ideas but his hands can’t keep up. Leela gushes about her musician ex-boyfriend.
  4. Fry makes a deal with the robot devil to become a better artist. The devil mocks him and gives him a pair of robot hands. The devil gets the set of hands by stealing them from a random robot who has the talent he seeks. (This is sort of like getting a machine that plagiarizes and doesn’t tell you the source.)
  5. He signs a contract absolving the devil of responsibility of any crimes he commits with the robot hands. Due to a lucky stroke of chance, he exchanges hands with the robot devil himself. He can now do lots of tricks.
  6. The robot visits Fry to beg to have his hands back and undo their contract, but Fry says no. Fry becomes famous as an artist by using the devil’s hands.
  7. A perverted, hedonism bot commissions Fry to write an opera. He agrees to write an opera about Leela. He doesn’t want her to listen until it is done.
  8. The devil offers the robot a deal in exchange for his hands, but the robot rejects him. The devil gives the robot an idea for how to be more annoying with a loudspeaker. This made Leela deaf so that she can’t hear Fry’s opera. She keeps her deafness a secret.
  9. Fry’s opera about Leela is silly, but people like it. The devil offers Leela robotic ears in exchange for her left hand. She agrees.
  10. The devil doesn’t like seeing himself mocked on stage. He crashes the performance and criticizes it, demanding his hands back. The performance becomes a live, reality-based pantomime/opera. The devil insists Leela agreed to marry the devil and give her hand in marriage.
  11. Fry must give the devil back his hands if he wants Leela. The audience cheers. Fry trades back his hands and frees Leela. The devil goes back home for poker night with the president. Fry tries to finish the opera by creating it with his own hands and the audience jeers. Leela asks him to show her the end of the story.
  12. He sketches out a childish, happy ending.

It might be worth noting that the female protagonist of Disenchantment also almost had to marry the devil because of her mother, queen of purgatory, but the devil was something like Hermes in that story (Hermes got a promotion). Since that is more of a future scenario, I feel like the devil is Ned Flanders in this past scenario. Marge does eventually end up marrying him, but he has something like 80 wives while Homer/Fry goes to heaven and eats his wings.. speaking of which, there is a new delivery restaurant that specializes in fresh tortilla wraps and spicy fried chicken/wings. I’m tempted. Is this heaven? From the perspective of people in hell, I’m in hell while they think they are in heaven because they like drugs and rock and roll more than rollerskating, happy kids and spicy chicken wings. Heck. Maybe they have spicy chicken wings in hell, too. Maybe heaven and hell are just a state of mind and acceptance of reality. Deluded people are in hell.

That was season 5.

….

IMDB lists season 6 as occuring in 2008-2009 and I used their dates for the previous seasons since I think they represent the period being documented rather than the actual production of the episodes which appear too have been modified in subsequent years. I believe these people can insert episodes or even seasons into the past publishing record. In terms of the story arcs, they don’t blend well between seasons 5 and 7 and look more like a standalone, sugar coated retrospective that offers explanations for the mistakes made witin seasons 4-5 regarding orphan babies and invisible interns who got ejected into space like an unwanted insect or treated like a broken down spaceship AI.

I used the wiki publication date below, even though it overlaps with the IMDB publication date of Season 7 which the Wiki moved to 2012. There appears to be some disagreement over their documentation conventions or about when it is appropriate to change publishing dates to match the dates of the events being documented.

  7. The new owners search the firm for information and find DNA and original identity info for the employees. They study the tattoo on Fry’s butt. It contains a code in binary that tells the secret of time travel.

He attacks a voting station and throws the election to GW Bush. He tracks Fry to and from the north pole. He finds him at an abndoned pizza parlor and blows his alter ego up. He cries.

Futurama S6E3 (2008) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 40

  1. The protagonist lost his/her job and is now homeless. Santa claus makes an appearance.
  2. A guy with a questionable job is the only possibility for a woman to avoid homelessness, but this doesn’t work out.
  3. X visits a terarrium.

Futurama S6E3 (2008) vs. not in My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 390

  1. Bender hates his new bosses because they won’t let him have porn or his friendly, Fry normal/young guy identity to lure in innocent victims. Leela holds a funeral for Fry. She likes his new, bald guy, breaking bad identity.
  2. Fry lives in the past and uses time travel to get to eat his pizza sooner. When he returns to the future, Bender tries to kill him again. He cries about his depressing life in the past and returns to the future where they remove his time travel tattoo and leave him with 40% of his rectum. The new owners arrive and can no longer find evidence of Fry’s time traveller identity, so they leave without killing him, but first they fire everyone.
  3. Fry returns to the past and has to let go of his love for Leela because she lives in the future. He decides to adopt a depressed, motherless, female narwhal in an aquarium (jail/asylum). He gets a job there despite no qualifications.
  4. Leela and the bald guy go on a date at the head museum (prison for thinkers). He shows her a terrarium full of screaming skeleton people and looks like a warden at a death camp who is systematically terrorizing Leela, except that Leela likes it. She is kicked out of her apartment and is now his girlfriend. She agrees to marry him. He takes her out to eat.
  5. Everyone else on the crew is homeless. Santa hunts them down. Fry misses Leela but enjoys his job with the narwhal. He is now the assistant director of the aquarium (he’s also a type of prison warden). He is required to help the narwhal get released into the wild at the north pole and has been feeding her for years 2004-2012.
  6. Fry is determined to stop Leela’s marriage to the bald guy. If these guys are alter egoes and he thinks of Leela as a narwhal while she thinks of him as a death camp commandant husband, this is really messed up.
  7. Fry is determined to recapture the narwhal from the wild. He enlists the help of a sleazy boat captain to help kidnap her and keep her in his apartment. He finds her at the north pole in 2012 and captures her in a net.
  8. Hermes gets his wife back at Leela’s wedding to the bald guy, but is decapitated and electrocuted when a chandelier falls. The bald guy finds this unlucky and cancels the wedding. Leela cries.

This lines up with my belief that Leela is the same person as Ellen Tigh of Battlestar Galactica while Fry would be Lee on a sex holiday in a Westworld rehab prison. I wonder if he is also the same guy as The Deep in The Boys. He also had a whale girlfriend and worked in an aquarium. These personalities don’t totally match up with Tobias/GOB from Arrested Development. I think I might have conflated two different yet linked working groups.

Futurama S6E4 (2008) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 10

  1. A female is bing threatened with being eaten.

  2. Fry’s narwhal is panicking in the cage he put her in while kidnapping her. The narwhal’s real boyfriend follows the ship in which she is kept and Fry ignores their distress.
  3. Santa prepares the elves, zombies, and storm troopers for war against the scammers. Leela prepares to lead her elf troops when Zapp steals her thunder to announce his new children’s brigade. They are still outgunned by the scammers.
  4. Hermes takes over the attack coordination and they succeed, but the scammers think they have a doomsday device. Leela refuses to negotiate. Bender uses the doomsday device he stole to blow them up.
  5. Leela is sure she will never love again after losing the bald guy. Fry tries to get Leela back together with him, but the bald guy confesses that he is gay and can’t get off with a woman without a sadistic power struggle. Fry lost his time travel tattoo and it wound up on the bald guy’s butt because Fry became the bald guy and woke up in the future with Fry’s ex girlfriend who he was dating while he was engaged to Leela. A younger guy was playing his old role and having sex with Leela, so he gave up on his relationship with Leela. I think he just didn’t want her or didn’t want the temptation to murder her to get out of a marriage and made up a time-travel excuse. (This lines up with the plot of the movie Closer.)
  6. Fry sets his narwhal girlfriend free to be with her narwhal boyfriend in the wild and cries.
  7. Fry has a funeral for his bald, gay self. Bender goes back in time to tattoo a time code on someone’s butt. He takes too many time travel trips and messes up his brain with multiple identities. (When he doesn’t feel young and sexy and is forced to marry Leela, he turns gay.)

  2. A professor invites the protagonist to attend a scientific conference.

  2. Fry introduces his young, new girlfriend to Leela. He plans to take her to cuddle camp. Zoidberg vomits profusely.
  3. Fry met the girlfriend while commiserating over the end of the universe.

  5. Bender watches shows about Calculon while Fry meets his girlfriend and asks her to move in with him.
  6. The professor takes them to a lecture about the anomaly to propose a mission to fly into it.
  7. The crew competes in a death match with professors trying to kill them for entertainment. The girlfriend congratulates Fry on surviving.
  8. Fry’s new girlfriend turns out to have five boyfriends. (This is a joke about what it is like to go on a date with Fry and find out who he really is.)
  9. The professor assures everyone that the physics anomaly is extremely dangerous and that they must tear it apart. (The girlfriend is the physics anomaly because she knows things that make her future unpredictable.)
  10. Leela mocks Fry’s dilema over having too many girlfriends/identities and a temporary girlfriend who is on the market.
  11. Kif assures Fry that if he loves the girlfriend, things will work out. He takes a room in her apartment/barracks with her other boyfriends. She just became the chief of police and has a date with a new guy, so Fry broke up with her. (If this is a gender reversal of Fry’s situation, why would any city make a guy chief of police when he has five, live-in girlfriends or undercover hos given to him by a cia lady who collected them from abroad to serve as spies? This sort of leadership and corruption would explain why 1/5 male police officers in London have sexual harrassment or assault accusations in their records. Maybe it also represents what it is like for a guy to date a female, CIA station chief who is allowed to give brain damage to the girlfriends she gave him to manage. Maybe it is a mix.)
  12. The crew apporaches the anomally and Bender shows it his butt. It zaps him and sends the crew spinning.

This is an attempt to make a sleaze identify with those he victimized: young college graduates sent to him by the state for ‘training’ and who he seduced, abused, and brainwashed so that they could work for him as whores while he maintained a parallel life as a respectable man with a wife and child. He was a state-supported pimp who produced torture porn as blackmail material. If someone wants to be a sleazebag, I think that’s fine. I just don’t think he should be allowed to have a state-supprted cover of normalcy with a wife, child, and high status job. If you take the sleazebag job, you’re a sleaze and you shouldn’t be able to wash that off easily, nor should those who covered for him. You can throw cash around to compensate the sleaze for whatever necessary function he provides, but you shouldn’t let him pretend to be a good guy in parallel. Confessing sins doesn’t mean they are forgotten and if a young woman wants to mess around with a sleaze, she shouldn’t have to face the wrath of the man’s good guy cover.

Calculon gets mobbed at a doctor’s office where he got a new penis. Calculon wakes up with Bender in his bed and appoints him as his official stalker. Calculon disillusions him about robot lore and this makes him suicidal. There is no robot paradise awaiting him. His suicide attempt sends him to a secret clubroom for robots. He is given a series of tests that involve drinking alcohol. The club is elitist and boring. Bender objects to robots who have stolen human body parts and expels them from the organization. (I think this is one of the stories in which the person responsile for the crime against an intern is depicted as the victim of the crime. The anomaly shows Bender its butt and wakes up in the hospital with amnesia. A movie star appears and takes the anomaly home while telling others that she is stalking him. Someone comes to take the anomally away to fake her suicide so that she canlose her identity and be placed on a ship where she is forced to drink and service the crew.)
  3. Fry’s girlfriend acts sad about Fry leaving, but then runs back to her four other boyfriends.
  4. Zapp preaches the virtues of violence and his soldiers beat the scientists.
  5. Amy bids adieu to Kif when he leaves with Zapp on his ship. Kif dies and is poured into his swamp at a funeral where Amy cries. We learn that dead bodies suffer for 6 hours after death.
  6. The professor discovers that electrical devices can’t pass through the anomaly, but living beings can. Fry is launched into the anomaly as an experiment. Zapp sends a missile with him. Fry passes through while the missile is reflected. (Necrophilia resurrection experiments, obviously.)
  7. Fry is running out of oxygen and approaches a giant space egg. (He gets the intern pregnant.)
  8. Leela brings the professor a cake in prison. The cake transforms into a scent telescope that they use to make a discovery. They use a wish to summon a dragon that takes them to the president with their discovery. (A woman brings a cake to a one armed man in Men in Black 3. It might be related. The man who was freed from the prison goes out to stop a Fry character.)

Fry uses the event to tell the world that they should love the alien baby. The tentacle baby attaches to everyone and makes them love it. Leela threatens to kill Fry and tries to kill the baby. (Fry got the intern pregnant and the secret is out.)
  2. Bender wants to know when the robots will massacre the humans and is told that the robot club doesn’t kill, except for sick, innocent girl scouts occasionally.
  3. Bender is annoyed that Fry is neglecting his hooker addiction and is now the pope of a new religion he is trying to spread to China. He uses his religion to get revenge on the girlfriend who rejected him for four other boyfriends. He agrees that focusing love on one person isn’t important and makes her love the tentacle baby.
  4. Zapp, Leela, and Amy are the only ones not affected. They take refuge in Bender’s robot club. He kicks them out. They hide in the wilderness. Zapp and Amy have extramarital sex and get attached to the tentacle baby too. It provides a constant sense of comfort without effort. Leela is holding out for a rich vampire instead.
  5. Leela tricks everyone into thinking she is connected to the tentacle when she visits Fry as he preaches a nouveau Judeochristian religion. Leela lets the congregation know that their cult leader, Fry, was just using the religion of free love to have sex with everyone.

The movie, Anon, gives another angle on this storyline and it depicts a British police guy who treats the young women who are sent to him from the US for evaluation or training as whores. A ditsy blonde with an ugly face plays the whore role without shame and is quickly passed along without serious injury to get married to someone while a serious science girl with a pretty face plays the role reluctantly and has to fight for her life in a foreign country while dealing with him in the role of sexual sadist. An FBI guy watches the situation without helping her and the woman isn’t sure she can trust him because he also wants to use her in operations that could get her killed. To complicate matters, they both claim to have an estranged wife and child. The ditsy blonde was okay with enabling bad behavior and the scientist wasn’t, so they tried to brainwash her and abuse her until she changed, but she wouldn’t, so they destroyed her brain.

  4. Bender must dual Calculon after being accused of loving humans because he thinks it is wrong to use their body parts to live longer. Bender wins and Calculon resigns. Bender now leads the robot club.
  5. A presidential council agrees to keep seeing the tentacle, He arrives with flowers and dates 1000 people all at once. They all complain that they had a good time but want commitment. The council dumps the tentacle. They travel to the anomaly to deliver the news.

  7. The tentacle monster offers Fry a giant diamond ring when he tries to break up with it.

  17. Amy’s relationship with Kif was damaged by their time in heaven because she screwed his boss. The robot insists that they hadn’t experienced love via the tentacle because they hadn’t felt jealous. (It is true.)

The tentacle has the voice of Tobias from Arrested Development. There is always a pull between the desire to bury our culture’s shame and display it in a pillory, the oldest form of comedy, but the goal of shame should be to prevent harm of the innocent and keep the crazy people quarantined or identified. When my mother sent me to the crazy people and wanted me to be accepted by them, she probably thought I’d be protected like she was and given the nice husband she’d selected and recruited into their organization. Instead, I got a two-faced, sicko stalker who pretended to be respectable while doing disgusting things. They hadn’t quarantined him and it looks like people of his type were allowed to take on leadership roles because they had weird ideas about memory erasure that allowed him to remain among them despite his hidden sadism. The truth was that because of their memory erasure, they all got infected by hidden sadism. They thought they were good people because they only remembered good things and when their unconscious badness was given a chance to emerge, they had no defenses against it since they didn’t even know it was there. They just acted and then forgot about their bad actions as quickly as possible. They had lost the balancing force of public memories of shame.

I really never watched this series before, so the combination of the future religion, the imaginary boyfriend concepts, and the non-consensual mental health treatments is really weird. The wiki says that this season was only released as a series of straight to DVD movies by Comedy Central in 2011. It wasn’t even streaming and that seems like a lot of effort to go to for a show that only had cult status and a small audience. Not only that, fans of the show react to the add on season by wondering why it is so different from the earlier seasons. The explanation given is that the staff of writers was much smaller. It is also rather wierd that the earliest internet commentary on this season that Google pulls up is from 2018, after my novel was published. My guess is that someone wished to be able to steal material from the future and publish it in the past so that he looked smarter. Geniis made it possible, but as with all wishes, there is a fuse and it will eventually blow up in the person’s face. Imagine being in your forties and worrying about what your twenty year old self might have wished for. It is a scary thought. I think I wished for those who had hurt me to be cured of what had caused them to hurt me. This would lead to some wierd outcomes if taken literally. Geniis are crazy.

I get sort of upset by these stories and need a break. Suppose that a story collider or similarity score calculator is the ring of power that must go into Mt. Doom. Is the only way to save the world from rule by orcs who cannibalize IP to throw anyone who knows how story colliders work into a volcano? Doesn’t that seem sort of stupid? The concepts are so simple that a housewife with rudimentary knowledge of renormalization can figure them out within a day with GPT3. You need new ideas. And what the hell are orcs anyways? I think they are just minds for hire and you’ve been sending guns for hire after them for decades. You’d be better off putting the guns for hire into your army since they do a better job of keeping those people from freelancing. Also, your project of brainwashing women to marry unattractive dorks was unethical. Manchildren aren’t supposed to get high quality brides. They are supposed to grow up first. One of your used up tech dorks wore sport sandals with his suit in his wedding photo. One of your manchildren killed his first bride because he was too dumb to deal with 15k in credit card debt and his second bride started to panic when Mr. Stupid started going into debt again. And your strategy was to give women brain damage and faked criminal records so that they would be forced to tolerate these jokers? Those who were complicit should.. well, they probably already work on behalf of the children they destroyed, but if any of their children are on the streets right now, those parents who sold their kids to monsters should be charged for their rehabilitation. All you have to do is ask the homeless people where their parents or siblings are. I don’t care if they are crazy. The non-profits that are giving them money to live on the streets are the problem. They need to give the money to a parent or sibling who has to manage their destitute relative. That would incentivise people to vote for a politician who will give a sufficient stipend for their care. The reason this hasn’t happened is that every single one of those homeless people has a story to tell but the censorship apparatus doesn’t want those stories, so they give families no incentives to care for the brother or son that the system used and spit out. Their nonprofit funding agencies keep them isolated and give them just enough to stay alive as a person living under a bridge. This is how capitalism treats veterans who don’t even know they are veterans because they got their memories wiped.

  6. Frydo fights the robot bosslady over the die. She wants it to complete her set of five. They stab one another.
  7. The bosslady’s dumb goon is a sith that fights Gandalf and defeats him by telling him that he is his father.
  8. The professor falls from a great height onto Zoidberg because he didn’t want to believe that he had created spawn of the robot boosslady’s idiot son from the professor.
  9. The robot bosslady wins and everyone travels back to reality into her lab. Fry thinks it was a dream and the professor insist that Bender created an alternate reality via his contact to a dark matter crystal that created resonance or physics anomaly which spawned a multiverse.
  10. The professsor has the die/crysta in his intestines after swallowing it. His son also ate one of the die/crystals that has the power to neutralize his crystal. By hugging his son, the two crystals annihilate. (This is how you neutralize bad ideas without killing people. Duh.)
  11. The professor uses the aliens to tow his ship back home. They all chase after a chicken he holds out as a lure.
  12. The aliens are fed chickens which represent young women that they get to consume before destroying their minds. It is gross. This causes the aliens to poop out dark matter or story material. They aren’t allowed to marry, but they get lots of chickens. If they were allowed to marry, their wives would kill them.

If this is how blame was assigned for the intern flying out of a window, this doesn’t sound likely. I think the intern was just sick of being tortured by a certain man and forced to romanticize it. This was one of their exit procedures. A person is backed into a corner, blinded, and forced to decide to join the bad guys or die by going out the window. I’m unnerved by how this backstory for a child lines up with the most recent Jurassic World movie in which a woman scientist was used by a professor to create a daughter that he intended to raise but who was kidnapped by a couple of ex park employees and raised off the grid before she was kidnapped back to the instittue for research purposes and rescued by the paleobotonist (woman who collected coma patients) and paleontologist (man who studied reanimated coma patients with unpredictable personalities). Note that the paleontologist thinks all dinosaurs are monsters because they did their reanimation experiments in a lab where the people were abused rather than treated like babies in a loving family. If you are nice to a fresh brain, it turns into a nice person, but the people running this program were idiots who wanted to weaponize people and when their victims woke up after a coma they tended to be sweet and loving, so their scientists had to immediately abuse them to turn them in the weapons they wanted. Even that didn’t work and just caused people to shut down.

Futurama S6E13 (2008) vs. not in My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 300

  1. The crew visits a demolation of Las Vegas while a song about being reborn plays. Amy’s parents will rebuild it. They blow up protestors and Fry is hit by feminist shrapnel.
  2. The professor jokes about exterminating ponies. Leela adopts a violent leech because it is the last of its kind.
  3. The gamble while Fry struggles with too many voices in his head after the shrapnel. A homeless guy suggests a tinfoil hat and it works. He says they are psychic and Fry is warned to keep his ability a secret or else he’ll be kidnapped and incinerated. Fry decides to use his new ability in a poker tournament. He uses his
  4. Gangster robots visit a burlesque show. Bender intrudes on a honeymoon. He sees a showgirl he remembers and visits her backstage. Her mob boss husband lets Bender drive her home. He makes out with her in front of the crew.
  5. The crew is offered a meal of a tormented bear.
  6. Bender is welcomed by the showgirl’s husband, even though he is screwing her. The showgirl wants to run off with Bender and he says they can if he wins the poker tournament. He uses her diamond encrusted bra as his entrance fee.
  7. Her big fat husband has lost his foot because of Bender. (My guess is that Bender is an enforcer who looks after the women who were forced to marry criminals who are working as spies. He pre-programmed the women so that they recognize him and run to him.)
  8. Bender and Fry get good hands in a poker game and win all of hte money. The emperor also plays. He is also part of their scheme to use fixed gambling games to buy and sell women. Bender wants to run away with the brainwashed and demoralized woman while Fry wants to stick with Leela. Bender wins. (It is like Casino Royalle, but I think some of the games are played in Cuba.)
  9. The mobster husband kidnaps the wife and Bender and buries them in shallow graves alongside sand worms.

On one side, he’s Fry, a violent leech who sucks on the neck of a psycho orphan cia woman who funds their operation. On the other side, he is Bender who seduces young women by acting as either a father figure or lover or both (ick!) and abandons them with criminals that Leela’s bosses want to spy on. He recruits new victims from among the children of these marriages. Leela hates these women. She tortures and damages them en route to their destination. My point is — destroy Leela! Then Fry is out of a job and not fed a steady stream of victims/chickens. When contained, he is represented by Nibbler, the alien pet of Leela. Leela is enabling this situation. She is the problem.

Futurama S6E14 (2008) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 30

  1. The protagonist is brutally executed and comes right back to life.
  2. A woman is lured into a pointless sabotage operation after being treated like a hooker.

Futurama S6E14 (2008) vs. not in My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 280

  1. Fry mourns Bender and the showgirl. The crew dig them up and they are fine. The wife goes home to her mobster husband and Bender tells her he won’t call again. (When she calls for help, he offers a traumatic experience to scare her into staying with her husband.)
  2. Amy’s parents build golf courses. The crew searches for intelligent life (to kill). Leela is a crazy environmentalist crusader with limited scientific understanding. Fry is programmed to think he is in love with her.
  3. Leela joins a group of feminist environmentalists who are hiding out after Leela framed them for killing the vice-president. Leela encourages them to sabotage a new golf course. They reluctantly follow her. She puts a potato in the tailpipe of a golf course worker.
  4. Zoidberg almost eats Leela’s violent leech pet. Fry complains that he misses Leela. He’s desperately in love and she leaves him to run off with her crew of terrorists. Fry makes friends with a homeless guy who takes him to another dimension. populated by schizophrenic homeleess men. He coaches them in making up a crazy story to explain how the diversity of human thought has been systematically reduced. They tell Fry that they need him to rescue their savior star and protect it. He is the only one who can do it becuase he lacks a delta brain wave , making him impervious to mind hacking. He is told to keep this secret from everyone, even Leela. Fry is told to infiltrate the golf course owner’s organization to prevent him from destroying their savior star.
  5. Leela’s feminist eco-terrrorists are viewed as angry ex-hookers with illogical manifestos regarding killing the golf course owner. Bender offers to deal with them.

This separation of Fry and Leela with Leela joining a group of women would line up with Suicide Squad 2: Birds of Prey in which she gets ahold of a valuable blackmail diamond (story) and uses that to become independent with her adopted daughter. Damaged people all dream of independence when love is too complicated for them to figure out. She dreams of stealing another woman’s story and daughter so that she can blackmail her old coworkers. Such a nice lady.

The victim in the episode was portrayed as an evironmental protestor, when that wouldn’t fit with my identity. I care only a little bit about political issues because I’m very pragmatic and have never joined any protest groups. My philosophy is that slow change is responsible and quick change is usually counterproductive. I wasn’t a stupid ideologue when I was young either. I had just graduated from a college that had been given that sort of reputation via external efforts. The students there had chosen the school because they wanted to read old books. They didn’t care about Mumia Abdul Jabbar, the Bob Marley styled convict that some outside group was posting signs about all around campus in a failed effort to get students to look like they supported rastafarian-muslim ‘cop killers’. The real criminals are those who did idiotic pre-emptive counterterrorism operations in colleges that didn’t have terrorists. My college had the kids of hipsters and hippies — academically oriented young people who tended to become school teachers or professors. That’s why I chose the school. I didn’t know anyone who had been radicalized, but years later, I read a novel by James Patterson in which he portrayed the school as a hotbed of radicalization. — hippies with bombs. It was nonsense. I went there because I wanted to see a different culture from my bible belt community and I liked both groups. This pre-emptive counterterrorism group was targetting privileged, intelligent, curious, adventurous people and that was the only reason they were targeted. It was covert pol pot crap. You wear glasses because you read a lot of books? Welcome to the death camp. This was what zero-emissions intellectual climate control looked like in Portland, Oregon.

Do you know what those women who had been labled as dangerous did when riots broke out in Portland? Some of them got naked and sat down in the street in front of the people in riot gear. Dangerous, right? When you give all of the smart people in a commmunity brain damage, you get riots involving teenagers with machine guns who accidentally shoot someone and confused, naked women wandering around in the street. That is the lesson of their experiment in pre-emptive social engineering and ‘weaponizing ‘ women via sexual abuse. Brilliant or?

This all leads into the next episode which portrays Leela as someone who had turned a group of women who were merely commiserating into a group that looks radical because of Leela’s marketing efforts and encouragement. As in, a cia woman deliberately radicalized a group of women she had previously brainwashed so that no one would find out about the experiments that she and Fry/Bender had been conducting on these people with the professor and the momboss’s support. Consolidating makes it easy for Bender to swoop in and dispose of them for profit. I think they were a military/cia/presidential foreign/alien homeland security contractor profitting off of solving problems they caused.

I find it interesting that when a woman like Leela makes an effort to appear sympathetic to someone she victimized, she errs on the side of pitying the victim and identifying the thing that the victim most lacks or wants. This is a form of attack. She’s just rotten through and through. I know the type. Why did they give people like this jobs with complete power over innocent young people? I conclude that kept her job because she carried out orders, even if she indulged in sadism and grandstanding/whiteknighting whenever possible.

Futurama S6E15 (2008) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 30

  1. Confused people march in the streets.
  2. The protagonist enters an underground city.
  3. The protagonist gets a lecture from a crazy, homeless man.
  4. The protagonist must live as a homeless person.

Futurama S6E15 (2008) vs. not in My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 390

  1. The president gives Bender a bunch of money to round up a group of women he once brainwashed by using the help of his old partner, Leela, who is encouraging them to form a group and make political noise in opposition to an Asiatic Trump-esque golf course owner.
  2. Leela gives her group of feminist women stupid slogans and makes them look dumb in public. She makes trans-assassins want to kill them by making them talk about TERF issues.
  3. Fry poses as a schizophrenic security guard who is secretly trying to help Leela protect a special star from the golf course guy when he’s really been hired as Bender to destroy everyone in the group she created.
  4. A sign maker becomes psychic (begins to remember her erased memories) and she is immediately killed by the same group that the homeless men are afraid of. As she dies, she calls out for her long lost brother to avenge her. (He’s probably homeless.)
  5. Fry leaves work at the golf club and is clubbed by his homeless friend. He wakes up in an underground city of homeless men. They tell him he must prevent the destruction of the special star. Fry reminds himself to make sure it occurs. The men beleive in evolution and competition between dark ones that delete all signs of female intelligence and encyclopods that incorporate endangered species’ dna to recreate them later. They are searching for the egg that contains the encyclopod dna in the special star. They must defend it from the dark one. (This is like Raya and the Last Dragon). Fry is the only one who can rescue the egg.
  6. Leela’s group of women cage their boyfriends and bosses. They find their murdered sign maker. Leela thinks Fry killed her.
  7. Zap directs his ship to find Leela and her cult. He intrudes on her meeting with Fry and her ship/cult rescues them. Zapp chases them. Zapp’s ship is chopped in half and he loses all of his men but he keeps chasing them. They fly through a wormhole into another universe where Zapp’s ship is undamaged.
  8. They see the asteroid containing all of the dna that will be destroyed by the golf course. (This like the dragon refuge in dragon training made easy 3)
  9. Zapp catches the women’s ship and intends to board them. Bender helps.

Basically, Leela collected a group of women, made them look like rebels, incriminated them, put them on a boat, and let Zapp’s crew ‘board’ them. Bender helped. They’re sex slave traffickers. The Simpsons took this storyline one step further and suggested that the ‘teddybears’ got thrown overboard when they were done with them. This was in an episode in which Bart and Homer spend a year at sea.

Futurama S6E16 (2008) vs. My Adorable Apotheosis (2018) — word count 70

  1. There is a ridiculous trial of a group that did something that shouldn’t be illegal. They are found guilty.
  2. There is a talking, decapitated head.
  3. A group of people who are mentally connected via technologically enabled psychic connections are running the world.
  4. The protagonist uses a mind reading system and is horrified by others’ thoughts.
  5. There is a ship that acts as an ark for DNA.
  6. A dodo bird is referenced.

Futurama S6E16 (2008) vs. not in My Adorable Apootheosis (2018) — word count 490

  1. The women in Leela’s cult are all tried in a fake court. The president agrees with the decision that protecting a special star from being obliterated is a crime. The jury finds them innocent when women’s votes are counted, but because the men are in charge, they are found guilty. They are sent to the dog house for-profit prison. They are encouraged to fght with each other for entertainment. Leela gets a psychic message about escaping to rescue the special star. She tries to use her violent leech to tunnel out, but it fails. Bender busts them out instead.
  2. The homeless men give Fry a device to disable the dark ones’ delta waves. His mind can’t be read, so he can read the dark one’s thoughts without them finding out their plan.
  3. Leela uses hookers being sexy to distract the guards while they escape. Bender draws their fire. The professor helps them escape in their space phip.
  4. Fry is given the honor of killing the special star on behalf of the golf course man. He scans the crows for the dark one. He can’t find him. He realizes that he is the dark one and that he has to stop himself from killing the special star. There is a count down for him to destroy it. The women arrive and stop him.
  5. Leela almost cuts the cable to the bomb that will kill the star and Fry tells her to stop because she doesn’t understand what is really going on. He knows he is the dark one but she still trusts him and hands him the detonator. He presses it but has connected it to the device that will destroy the dark one instead of the star. The device activates, but Fry survives. He thought he would die. Leela’s violent, bloodsucking pet announces that it was the dark one all along (Nibbler?) and that he will now die. An ecosystem with varied dna survives while an icky, destructive creature is dying.
  6. There is a sysygy and this causes the star to come to life after combining with an asteroid. It becomes a creature with a world on its back that contains extinct animals/stories. (Jurassic Park?)
  7. A homeless man becomes pedantic and the violent bloodsucker comes to life to attack him. As he dies, the man notices his sister’s necklace embedded in Fry’s head as shrapnel. Fry killed his sister. The shrapnel is removed and Fry loses his psychic abilities. The new star creature kills the last of the violent bloodsuckers that Leela liked and considers resurrecting the bloodsuckers but decides not to. Zoidberg eats the bloodsucker. The dead homeless man is added to the world of extinct animals.
  8. Zapp resumes his pursuit of the ship containing female spies/rebels and the crew. They escape through the wormhole and Fry tells Leela he loves her. She doesn’t have anyone else and we love those who need us the most. He is still a bloodsucker.

The blame is laid on the bloodsucker rather than the bloodsucker’s enablers, but I still blame the enablers.
